Ironclad Sites builds lead-generating websites for contractors, service businesses, real estate professionals and property managers. I handled the full build and the SEO strategy for their own site — the same site they use to sell web design to their clients, so it had to survive the kind of scrutiny they invite.

The challenge

A web design agency’s own website is its best advertisement or its worst. If Ironclad Sites is selling fast, conversion-focused websites to contractors, their own site has to actually be fast, or the pitch undercuts itself the moment a prospect checks.

The second problem was harder. They sell a service, but they wanted it to buy like a product: a visitor should be able to see what a site costs, choose what they need, and start, without a discovery call standing between them and a price.

What I did

A page builder build, tuned like a hand-coded one

The site runs on Elementor Pro over a custom child theme of Hello Elementor — the minimal starter theme, not a multipurpose one carrying features nobody asked for. The custom work lives in the child theme, so a parent update never overwrites it.

Naming the builder matters here, because “Elementor is slow” is the usual objection and this site is the answer to it. What makes a page builder slow is what gets loaded on top of it, not the builder.

Turning a service into something you can order

Rather than a contact form and a wait, the site sets out two plans and six named add-ons — vector conversion, logo design, extra pages, rush build, booking system, CRM integration — and an order page that takes the plan and add-ons as fields and submits a project brief.

The process is spelled out in five steps, on the homepage and again on the order page: order, upload content, we build, approve, launch. A visitor who wants to talk first still can, through a booking page that states the call agenda up front. Nobody has to ask what happens next.

Built to be found for what they actually sell

Eight content pages, each earning its own place in search rather than sharing one. Pricing, portfolio, FAQ, booking and a separate logo conversion service all target their own query family, with titles written for that query instead of for the brand. The portfolio is split six ways by industry — cleaning, landscaping, service businesses, property management, real estate, contractors — so a visitor lands on work that looks like their own.

The FAQ is grouped rather than dumped in a list: pricing and plans, build process, hosting and ownership. Structured data runs through Rank Math — ProfessionalService and Organization for the business, with WebSite, WebPage, Person and Article on top — alongside meta descriptions, Open Graph tags and canonical URLs.

Performance

  • LiteSpeed Cache for server-side caching
  • Elementor set to print CSS as external files rather than inline it on every page
  • Font loading set to swap, so text is readable before the webfont lands

Those are the same checks a performance audit runs against any site. The difference is that here they were run against a build rather than a rescue, which is the cheaper end of the same work.

Like the schema and SEO work behind Rossi Real Estate, this is the same SEO and local search process applied to a different niche — and the clearest answer I have to whether a page builder can be fast.
